Developed by Australian
Tom Bowen,
Bowen Therapy is a holistic technique which address the body as a whole,
not just the presenting symptoms.
It embraces the physical, chemical, emotional and mental aspects of each person
receiving a treatment, and is total
body-balancing modality.
The Bowen Therapy has been described as one of the most important
healthcare discoveries in medicine today.
Because it balances the autonomic
nervous system and detoxifies the body, it has been effective for many
conditions.
The therapy includes a deep feeling of relaxation and is so gentle it can be
used on everyone from infants to the elderly.

British-born Cheryll Hillier discovered the technique in 1995 when, after trying
every conceivable traditional and alternative treatment, her own debilitating
neck and arm injuries were remarkably improved following just two Bowen
treatments. Six medication- free months later, after much research (plus testing
of several different Bowen Practitioners), she says, ”Bowen gave me my arm and life back!”
So inspired by the results, she decided to take the training herself. So
passionately does she believe in the Bowen Technique, she has completely given
up regular massage therapy work, and has devoted herself to long – term
development of Bowen Therapy.
“This is not a job – this is my labor of love!”
Bowen therapy treats the person. not the condition.
The work is merely offered to the body, not forced - and the body either accepts
or declines in much the same way as a plate of rood is offered to a child, take
it or leave it!
The Bowen practitioner is simply a catalyst, setting the stimulus in motion for
the body to heal itself.
Quite often other conditions fix themselves when undergoing treatment for
something quite different!
Doctors, osteopaths, chiropractors, physical and sports therapists report
startling successes when Bowen therapy is integrated into their patient’s
treatment plan.
